Sitting just off the A14 south of Ipswich Jimmys Farm was easy to find with clear signs leading you in. Once there, the place was just as expected, a bit rough around the edges but rustic and charming non the less. All the children seemed to love the playpark and the animals which ranged from guinea pigs and chickens to some rather larger looking wooly cattle. The nature walk could have been better signed, maybe with a map to highlight points of interest. Much more could have been done to engage with and educate the numerous children (and adults), with more information on the animals. We were lucky, the weather was great and this helped add to our enjoyment. Didn't get to see Jimmy but, Michaela (Jimmy's girlfriend) was serving at the til and she really made the customers feel welcome. Lets not forget the contribution this place is making to maintaining rare farm breeds, as well as rearing animals in a more humane way. This is "The home of the Essex Pig Company" afterall. I think it is fair to say that the farm is still developing and given time and money the amenities can only improve. Overall a pleasant and different day out. Worth a look.
